Interview by Barry Mitchell about Piano Renaissance

For over two centuries opera had completely submerged the instrumental genres in Italy; as a reaction, a generation of composers born in the 1880s decided to recreate a national identity of the Italian instrumental music. This process led to a true instrumental Renaissance, a rebirth.

Piano Renaissance combines Italian instrumental music from the original Renaissance and early Baroque era with that new Italian music of the XIX Century Rebirth.

This CD is produced with the kind support of the Italian Cultural Institute in London and the Town Hall of Montegiorgio.
